Lucia Hall is an experienced psychological therapist, lecturer, trainer, communication coach, supervisor and clinical hypnotherapist. She has worked in Higher Education for over fifteen years, teaching degree-level training courses as well as owning a private counselling and training company. Lucia is a specialised traumatologist, but she works with a large range of conditions.
She studied her MSc. in Mental Health at Guy’s Hospital, St Thomas’ Hospital & Kings College School of Medicine/Institute of Psychiatry. The main therapeutic approaches studied were CBT and CAT – two excellent and complementary cognitive approaches.
Lucia has developed and added to that expertise by studying numerous other therapeutic courses, including a special Diploma in Trauma and Abuse (Dip. PICT), a Diploma in Christian Counselling (from London Bible College, now the London School of Theology), she is an EMDR Level 3 practitioner (Eye Movement Desensitisation & Reprocessing) and is trainer for MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Levels 2 & 3). Additional specialised training includes Schema Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Trauma-Focused CBT, Trauma-Focused CBT for Children, Imagery Rescripting and Reprocessing Therapy (IRRT), Cognitive Behavioral Analysis System of Psychotherapy (CBASP), Lifespan Integration (LI), Behavioral Activation (BA), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), KIDNET (NET for children), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE), STAIR/Narrative Story Telling and various other trauma focused processes. Lucia is also a qualified clinical hypnotherapist, having a diploma (DipH) in the subject.
Lucia’s training courses have been accredited by the National Council of Psychotherapists (NCP) or the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and recognised by the Open University. Two recent trauma workshops that she wrote were accredited by the European Society of Traumatic Stress Studies (ESTSS). Her latest course is a Postgraduate Diploma in Trauma and PTSD and this is accredited by NCP at Level 7.
Lucia is an American citizen, although she was born and raised in Panama. She moved to the United States where she became a social worker in the Family and Child Protection units in Detroit, Michigan. Having married a Brit, she later moved to Berkshire. Lucia’s Panamanian and USA background, coupled with her extensive experience, make her a unique, dynamic and interesting therapist and lecturer.
Lucia is a member of many professional bodies including BABCP, MBACP, EMDR UK, ISTSS, GHR (GHSC & GQHP) and CNHC. She is a Fellow of NCP due to her contributions to the field of counselling and psychotherapy.
Steven Hall, BA (Hons), DipH, DipTrauma, GQHP, GHReg. MNCP (Snr Accred).
Steven has a passion for EMDR and working with trauma and its ramifications (EMDR is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a highly regarded treatment for trauma and PTSD that is increasingly being shown to be effective with other psychological issues). He also works extensively with couples and is a supervisor of other psychotherapists. Steven taught counselling, both in colleges and privately, for over fifteen years and is an experienced trainer and author of many accredited training courses. The courses writtend and taught range from the introductory level all the way up to a Postgraduate Diploma in Trauma & PTSD (Level 7) and include courses written for Open University degree programmes and training for NHS teams.
Steven has a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotherapy and is one of only two UK practitioners certified in Rapid Resolution TherapyTM and Rapid Trauma ResolutionTM. In addition, Steven is a Certified Pain Management Practitioner and a Weight Management Specialist as well as being a Couples Communication coach. He is currently continuing his EMDR studies by means of a Masters programme at the University of Worcester. This innovative EMDR Masters is the first of its kind in the world.
